Granby Street McDonald’s Reopens with a Fresh Look and Bold Community Investment

The Meoli Companies celebrates the grand re-opening of its Granby Street McDonald’s with a ceremonial “First Sip,” ribbon cutting, community donation, and local leaders.

Downtown Norfolk has a reason to celebrate. The Meoli Companies is proud to announce the grand re-opening of its newly renovated McDonald’s on Granby Street — a location that has long been a part of the fabric of the Norfolk community. On Wednesday, May 6, local leaders, team members, and guests gathered to mark the occasion with a ceremonial “First Sip,” a ribbon cutting, and a donation that reflects our ongoing commitment to the people who call this region home.

A Modern Experience, Inside and Out

The updated Granby Street location has been reimagined from the ground up. Guests will notice a modernized kitchen designed for greater speed and consistency, a refreshed lobby and restrooms, and a host of new conveniences that make every visit easier, whether you’re stopping in during lunch hour or late on a Friday night.

Highlights of the renovation include a dual-lane drive-thru for faster service, dedicated pick-up spots for mobile orders and delivery drivers, and a combined walk-up window built for after-hours convenience. It’s a thoughtful upgrade that serves both delivery drivers and late-night customers with faster, more direct service, a small detail that makes a real difference in a vibrant downtown neighborhood that doesn’t slow down after dark.

Raising a Glass — The Ceremonial “First Sip”

The celebration kicked off with something a little different: a ceremonial “First Sip” featuring McDonald’s exciting new specialty drink lineup. Guests, team members, and local leaders joined together to toast the reopening, sampling new beverages and celebrating what’s ahead for this location. Drink samples, a prize wheel, and exclusive offers rounded out the festivities throughout the afternoon.

Giving Back to Those Who Serve

At the heart of this celebration was something that matters most to us: the community. As part of the grand re-opening, The Meoli Companies was proud to present a $2,500 donation to The Armed Services YMCA Hampton Roads, an organization doing extraordinary work to support programs and services for military children, spouses, and families across the region. Supporting military families is a value deeply aligned with who we are as a company and who our neighbors are here in Hampton Roads.

Part of a Bigger Picture

The Granby Street reopening is one chapter in a much larger story. The Meoli Companies is in the midst of a transformational $10+ million investment across the Norfolk region, renovating and newly opening more than ten McDonald’s locations, reflecting our belief in this community and our commitment to delivering a gold standard experience at every restaurant we operate.

Whether you’re a longtime regular or visiting for the first time, we invite you to come experience the new Granby Street McDonald’s. Stop by and say hello — we’ll be ready with a great meal and maybe even a specialty drink waiting for you.
